The Dodge
The home of the late authors Eugenia Price (1916-1996) and Joyce Blackburn (1920-2009)
The 5,000-square-foot fenced family garden and shed were added in 2016, and were followed in 2017 by an extensive landscape renovation by Bell Outdoor that included elimination of the original driveway which once encircled the house and led to a carport, and the addition of a new driveway at the front of the house. Significant landscaping, along with a pool and patio, were also installed, and multiple water features, most importantly a Kehoe syrup kettle forged in Savannah (c. 1890) complimented by an antique granite millstone from Demopolis, Alabama.
The bricks used at this property are reclaimed from The Long Building located Macon, GA. The Long Building, built in 1904, served multiple purposes over the years, and now continues it's rich history as part of The Dodge!
Customer Testimonial
"Many thanks for the recent landscape renovation at our property: it was a great experience! The outcome has exceeded our expectations and we are captivated by our "new and improved" yard. Your team transformed our historic property into an outdoor living space that is functional as well as beautiful. We appreciate your attention to detail and your relentless pursuit of architecturally appropriate materials that only enhance the existing property. The newly installed driveway, plantings, turf installation, lighting, walkways, fire pit, and pool deck are the amazing result of countless hours of demolition and preparation that are but a memory as we enjoy the fruits of your team's labor.
Speaking of your team, we enjoyed working with your professional landscapers who came every day, on-time, and dressed for success: six months is a long time to spend together and I appreciated having quality individuals on my property who I could trust and enjoyed seeing daily. They are an exceptional team."
